U kraljevstvu Newra nekada je sve bilo ispunjeno bojama - vrtovi su cvetali u hiljadama nijansi, ljudi su slavili zivot, a radost i slavlje su bili deo svakodnevnog zivota. Ali kada mladi princ Amal nasledi presto, on donosi jednu odluku koja ce uzdrmati čitavo kraljevstvo - da ukine sve boje! Uveren da raskos boja podstiče rasipnistvo, on donosi tu odluku kako bi kraljevstvo i dalje zivelo u blagostanju i izobilju. Tako se jednog jutra Newra budi bezlična i bleda i postaje svet u crno-belom. Iako u soku narod se pokorava svom kralju jer veruje u njegove dobre namere. Ali od tog trenutka zivot se utisava, a radost svakim danom sve vise bledi. Samo jedna jedina osoba ne moze da prihvati ovakav bezbojan svet - Amalova sestra bliznakinja, princeza Diadora. Za nju je svet bez boja, jedan svet bez duse. Iako joj Amal za rodjendan poklanja jednu novu dodatno dozvoljenu boju - crvenu - ona i dalje tvrdoglavo insistira da joj vrati sve boje. Za nju samo jedna boja ne moze zameniti ceo izgubljeni svet. Jer boje znače zivot! Boje znače srecu! Tako crvena boja postaje njen tihi bunt, neskriveni znak nade i secanje na ono sto je Newra nekada bila. Kako vreme prolazi, nekada veoma bliski brat i sestra se sve vise udaljavaju. A onda, jednog dana, Diadora nestaje bez traga. Da li je pobegla u potrazi za izgubljenim bojama ili je zla čarobnica bacila na nju kletvu? Njen nestanak ostavlja otvoreno pitanje koje ce dugo progoniti kraljevstvo: da li zivot bez boja ima smisla!
