""Shane offers pastoral guidance and theological insight for others who might be called upon to care for God's people in the midst of crises. More than a how-to manual, it's an invitation to dynamically enter the stories shared."" -- R. Robert Cueni, Lexington Theological Seminary, President (retired)

Author Information

Dr. Thomas Shane is a graduate of Yale and Vanderbilt Divinity School. For 30 years he was as a board certified hospital chaplain (APC) and a certified clinical pastoral educator (ACPE). His chaplaincy was divided between a psychiatric hospital and a large medical/trauma center. Dr. Shane also worked as a commissioned law enforcement officer, as a chaplain to several agencies. His work in law enforcement took him into the usually hidden worlds of violence, suffering, moral issues and disaster, and here he brought pastoral comfort where it was most needed but least expected.
