Crowe is a professor of History at Elon University and a Professor of Legal History at Elon University’s School of Law. He is President Emeritus of the Association for the Study of Nationalities at Columbia where he has also served as a Visiting Scholar. He has taught at Central European University and has been a Fellow at the Center for Slavic, Eurasia, and East European Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has also been a member of the Education Committee of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C. and has served as chair of the North Carolina Council on the Holocaust. He has testified before the United States Congress’ Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe and the New York City Council’s Subcommittee on Immigration.
