OverviewA look at the Italian Regia Aeronautica in the Spanish Civil War. In July 1936, rebellious Spanish generals asked for help from Benito Mussolini. He sent twelve SM.81 bombers which were the first of the 764 Italian aircraft sent to help the nationalists. The book follows the day to day struggles in the air and the rapid development of the Italian Air Force in Spain. In this first volume we follow the struggle up to July 1937, including battles such as the attacks on Madrid, Málaga and Guadalajara.
