OverviewThe Credit Card Accountability Responsibility and Disclosure Act of 2009 (""CARD Act"" or ""the Act"") changed the landscape of the credit card market. The CARD Act was enacted to ""establish fair and transparent practices related to the extension of credit"" in this market, regulating both the underwriting and pricing of credit card accounts. The CARD Act directs the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to conduct a biennial review of the consumer credit card market, including the effect of the Act on the cost and availability of credit and the adequacy of protections for consumers relating to credit card plans. This book presents the findings of the Bureau's review and the impact of the CARD Act on the marketplace.
