Adults need play, too. Especially creatives. In my 30+ years as a journalist, I've interviewed countless creatives at the very top of their fields. As a magazine editor at The Face and The Observer, I've also collaborated with some of the world's best writers, photographers, stylists and art directors. In all that time, I've very rarely met a successful creative who isn't playful, curious, willing to experiment (and fail). When clients come to me for coaching because their career is stalled or they're stuck on a project, play is often the answer. Once they learn to play again, they lighten up.
