Author Information

Patsy Johnson Hallman is dean, College of Education, Stephen F. Austin State University, Nacogdoches, Texas. Her career as an educator has included teaching at all levels, kindergarten through university. In addition, she has served as a university administrator for the past 11 years. Hallman received the University's Distinguished Professor Award several years ago; however, in addition to her interest in teaching excellence, her interests in service have led to state and national professional leadership roles and to much local community service. A recent service opportunity was chairing the City Commission for Women and Families. Hallman's research has centered on teaching effectiveness.
