Author Information

Raised in a design-centric family, Martin Butcher studied and practiced architecture in Australia and Swaziland (now Eswatini). Whilst enjoying the practice, the anomalies of contemporary development culture and the obvious physical limitations of the planet resulted in taking a whole new direction to life and work 20 years ago. Pursuing a meaningful approach as a development specialist led to working in the field of group facilitation and community engagement, gaining an action research PhD from Southern Cross University in Participatory Development. He currently works as an engagement practitioner within the State Government of Victoria.
