Reviews

""An informative and practical guide, this book expertly details the step-by-step process of building virtual escape rooms, offering valuable tips and strategies for creating engaging and immersive experiences."" -Jenna Davis, PhD, RN, CNE, CNEcl Assistant Professor of Nursing York College of Pennsylvania ""This is a short but valuable read on how educators can incorporate digital games into their course content. It offers a look into a gamification strategy for engaging higher education students and breaking up the monotony of traditional lectures. After reading this book, I was inspired to try digital games in my own teaching and the process was not hard as there are plenty of resources and examples throughout the book. I will definitely be returning to this book as I reflect on how to incorporate more digital games in my courses."" -Eleanor Leung, PhD Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering York College of Pennsylvania ""Karen Lee Hansen's Book, Create Digital Games for Teaching: How to Build and Use Virtual Escape Rooms and Other Games, is an excellent guide for instructors who are either beginners or those who are ready for more advanced levels of detail in designing and creating online digital games. Her guidance and instructions can be adapted to any educational level or setting. She provides ideas for grade levels preK-12 and beyond. Many of her ideas would make great projects for student teachers in their university classes."" -Nora Martin Adjunct Instructor Montana State University ""Clear and concise guidance to make an engaging learning activity for all grades and ages. A must have!"" -Jennifer Buczek ELD Specialist York City School District ""The book provides some great examples of virtual games, which helped me frame my own game with a better backstory. The book also provides some great tips and tools for making some of my puzzles more interactive and 'game-like'."" -Josh Wyrick, PhD, PE Associate Professor of Civil Engineering York College of Pennsylvania ""Karen Hansen's experience and expertise shine through her text. Her book offers a rich resource to create a learning environment that students will love."" -Mary Bolt, Associate Professor of Literature and Languages and Global Studies York College of Pennsylvania
