Overview

This book is a collection of full color cartoons hand-painted in a medium of watercolors and ink. The cartoons are a combination of whimsical and comical individual characters as well as more complex action scenes. The the emphasis is on viewing by children, preferably in combination with their parents and/or relatives and friends. The cartoons and viewing suggestions encourage active involvement and interactions between viewers. Adults viewing with children are urged to elicit reactions from the children and give them many opportunities make comments, ask questions, make jokes, and relate to other children who may be present. Cartoons have the capacity to trigger a large and varied array of viewer responses, making for an enjoyable experience.

Author Information

As a main carreer, the author's education and occupation focused on psychology as applied in complex work organizations. In such settings the emphasis is on management skills and techniques to achieve individual, group and organizational effectiveness. The author is currently retired from a full career of teaching, consulting and writing research articles and textbooks. He has traveled nationally and worldwide conducting seminars and training sessions. Throughout his life, he enjoyed sports and the outdoors. But his love was in the artistic fields and he could always be found drawing and painting at home and involved in other artistic endeavors. His art work is varied and scattered here and there, but he never entered the art field professionally. The cartoons in this book began appearing for some unknown and perhaps mysterious reason only in recent retirement years. Little by little a cartoon would would appear here and there until a small collection developed. When he heard about this opprtunity to publish, he jumped at the chance. And here he is for your enjoyment.
