Author Information

Rachel Rizal, Rishi Mediratta, and James Xie are current medical school students at Stanford University School of Medicine and Devin Nambiar is an entrepreneur specializing in education and technology. Devin Nambiar was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and graduated from Columbia University. As an undergrad, he helped his fellow students ace their physics and math classes while also coaching students from the Bronx in the principles of entrepreneurship. He now works for a technology startup in San Francisco and continues to interview prospective Columbia applicants as well as advise college and graduate admissions. Rishi Mediratta is from Portage, Michigan and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Johns Hopkins University. As a British Marshall Scholar, he received his MPH from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and Masters in medical anthropology from the School of Oriental and African Studies. Rishi is passionate about improving methods to improve the delivery of preventive health services. Rachel Rizal grew up in Cerritos, California and graduated cum laude from Princeton University. She pursued a Fulbright Fellowship that integrated medicine, public health, public policy, and business. Since high school, Rachel has advised hundreds of individuals for college, graduate school, scholarship, and fellowship applications. James Xie was born in Switzerland, was raised in the UK, before moving to the San Francisco Bay Area. He graduated with honors with a degree in Computer Science from Stanford University and has worked in numerous projects related to online education, health policy, and electronic medical records. James is passionate about teaching, educating, and mentoring.
