OverviewCrack is an extremely addictive substance with no real benefits to a person or the society. This monologue lay presents one person's experience with the drug. He struggled with his addiction for two years and every day was a challenge to try to stop using it. Cocaine plants hooks in a user's mind and stimulates provocative dreams and fantasies that add to the difficulties in breaking the addiction. Some of those dreams are presented in this play. Nothing here has the purpose to encourage use of crack. Actually, the goal is to present the misery of addiction and the difficulty in breaking the addiction. The play discusses the use of the drug and its procurement. And it covers some of the lifestyles associated with drug usage. There are sections relating to the therapies used to attempt to cure the addict. The play is written as a monologue and is approximately 5000 words and can possibly be presented and easily read in about one hour.
