Overview

Flowers, ladybugs, owls and coyotes... our earth is filled with amazing sights and sounds, the most delightful being the laughter of children at play. This book celebrates the 'perfectly ordinary' things in a child's perfect day. Young readers are drawn in by the lyrical rhymes and rhythms of the story and will want to sing along to Coyotes in the Coulee. In their imaginations, this story's perfect day begins at sunrise with... ...birds singing, flowers blooming, cows mooing, bees a'buzzing, and coyotes yapping in the coulee. The very best part of the day is when we go to visit Grandma for supper and hugs! Then the perfect day ends after we roast marshmallows and almost fall asleep on the way home to the sounds of owls hooting and coyotes still yapping in the coulee. Of course, we're not tired...

Author Information

Wes Geddert has retired from less important things to spend time doing what he loves: building birdhouses and ukuleles, watching sunrises and thunderclouds, creating poetry and music, and living in the country, surrounded by farmland and coulees, birds and flowers, cows and coyotes, and adorable grandchildren. Rose Goerzen is a farm girl with awesome children and grandchildren. Since childhood she has loved all kinds of visual arts, with watercolor painting among her favourites. She has used the images of the world around her and skills honed over the years to illustrate this book.
