"Jeanna Read So, prior to reading this book - did I know anxiety and PTSD and mental health disorders existed? Of course. Did I know the world shut down for two + years due to a pandemic? Of course. Did I ever think about the way one affected the other? No! But I should have. And this is why this book is so vitally important. It really touches on some ongoing issues that everyone should be aware of, and should address - not only in themselves, but in how they respond to others in this new, post-pandemic world. I was an essential worker - my husband was not. My kids were teens navigating homeschool and the cancellation of their proms and graduations and SATs, etc. And just because the world has re-opened for the most part, does not mean there aren't ongoing consequences. This book addresses all of these, and will open your eyes to issues that you will not have thought of, but will make perfect sense once you see it in black and white. You owe it to your former, present and future self to read this book! Jennifer Johnson The Covid pandemic is supposedly over. Everyone is safe and we can return to ""normal."" Is everyone really okay though? I know some people including me have some anxiety, depression and stress related to the isolation of the pandemic. People and society at large had so much to deal with at one time: the virus, news, false news, isolation, financial difficulties, school closings, work closings, and the list goes on and on. How did that affect our mental health? It's almost impossible to just smile and return to normal without some anxiety and maybe even depression from the changes and all that may have lost. Author Peter Last, helps deal with the stress post-Covid so we can slowly return to a ""new normal"". He addresses several unhealthy patterns, for example codependency and negative thought patterns, and provides healthier ways to cope. Highly recommended! Tiffany Wittman Mr. Last brings the reader to the B.R.A.V.E framework to teach them the ways to delve into roads and bridges that involve the chaos that are anxiety and fear. He also uses the Common Sense Factor to move in that chaos. In the eight chapters that follow a very thorough introduction, each with a thorough subset of definitions. B stands for Breaking Negative Patterns, R- Revising Core Beliefs, A- Adopting Mindfulness, V- Vanquishing Procrastination, and E- Embracing Growth and Thriving. Each subsequent chapter explores the acronym in depth more clearly. WIthin each chapter, examples and quotes are highlighted to make the most effect to the reader. In the conclusion The Common Sense Factor is delved into. For those dealing with anxiety and fear from the COVID pandemic, this book is a must read.
