OverviewScripture defines Faith as ""being sure of what we hope for. It is being sure of what we do not see."" It is founded upon a compelling and often perplexing belief in both God - and the unique calling He has planted in our heart. The pursuit of our heart's desires will always begin, and then be sustained, by a series of simple, yet often heart-wrenching steps of faith. Steps that eventually lead one toward the mountaintop of fulfillment, hope and joy - while also requiring that same person to move through pain, loss, and unanswered questions along the way. To succeed on this journey, you will need to tightly couple courage with belief. This book will prepare you to do that! WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING ABOUT ""COURAGEOUS FAITH"" ""In this book, Courageous Faith, Ron Brown beautifully articulates how we journey through the joys and the pains of sustainable faith. With great wisdom and insight, he explores the true intricacies of living a life of meaning and significance. Ron boldly shares that living a life of courageous faith is not for the faint of heart; a life lesson he has learned from experience and lived out well. Courageous Faith demands that we leave our comfort zone, yet it doesn't leave us there; it propels us into deeper revelations of joy, hope, purpose and truth."" - Leah Wenger, Executive Pastor. ""Ron Brown has been a trusted friend, colleague, adviser and confidant for over 25 years. Few people I know have the passion that Ron does for understanding his areas of gifting and putting them into use to build into people and further God's kingdom. That passion has led Ron to write Courageous Faith - a handbook for discerning God's call on our lives and then courageously following where He leads. If you feel ""stuck"" in discerning God's direction in your life, Courageous Faith is the next book you need to read!"" - Dave Carley, Business Owner. ""As a believer in my mid-life, I found Courageous Faith to be the jump-start I've needed to clearly and courageously finish the second half of life as God intends me to. Packed with reason, and backed by science along with examples of Dr. Brown's personal history, I know this book will add bright color and clarity in an ever-increasing gray and confusing world. To the non-believer, I think this will be a compelling read and give you a prospective of the Christian faith, the reality of the human condition and how God fits in to each of our lives...if we let Him. This book speaks Truth, backed by the realities of the human condition. No one is immune to temptation, struggles, and heartache. Dr. Brown provides clear and concise steps one can take to get on or back on God's path. The journey may be difficult, but his optimistic and encouraging words, backed by Scripture and science, will give you the motivation and confidence to take that road less traveled."" - John Bell, Pilot. This was my experience from the onset while reading Courageous Faith. Ron describes life honestly; the choices, the struggles, the doubts, the uncertainty and infuses that with the hope that only faith, courage and perseverance can bring. Because of his honest acknowledgement of the trials that life brings, and how difficult it is to choose well, I felt connection to others. It is not me alone in my struggles, it is us, and this book gives us tools to navigate those hard times and believe in our own best ending. I have known Ron for several years, in the capacity of a church leader and as a friend. His book rings true to how I experience him as that leader. He is a courageous leader. I have seen him make difficult choices because he believes it is morally right and I've also seen him pay the price for those choices. In particular, he supported a ministry that I promoted and helped unselfishly to see it to a bigger vision. He did the same for another women's ministry. I have seen him fight for what is right, against the bureaucracy of an organization at the expense of his own advancement. I have witnessed him choosing what is right over what is easy. That always has a cost. Ron lets us know, though while not easy, this is the walk to our fullest, richest, most rewarding life. - Kimberly Best, RN, MA, Business Owner, Author of How to Live Forever; A Guide to Writing the Final Chapter of Our Life Story. Ron Brown brings to the reader the fruits of his discernment on Faith that is both apparent and ever-challenging. The result is an important and grounded work that articulates the means to developing spiritual resiliency. At a time when downhill optimism has become so commonplace, Brown's book recognizes the upward cant of faith - and the disciplines that make such a journey possible. - Tim Sassen, Marketing CEO.
