OverviewCounting One to Ten for Adults with Alzheimers, Dementia, and Memory loss Large print, easy to read 8.5 x 11 inches 25 pages 1950s inspired Resource for Aged care, Caregivers, Families, Respite, This book has been created with the focus being based around illustrations from the 1950's era so they can be more easily identifiable. Bold and brightly coloured illustrations and large print to be sighted with ease and to visually stimulate the brain to enable memory recollection. Social engagement I believe is also very important in this community to reduce loneliness and depression. So this is a book that can be used individually or read as a resource for carers or families engaging with adults whether one on one or in a group setting. This book is a cognitive stimulating activity as we can count one to ten, we can identify the images as we read and there are simple questions at the front of the book where a family member or carer can ask one on one or in a group setting about the images sighted and encourage social interaction with the responses and memory sharing. Alzheimer's, Dementia and memory loss is challenging enough. By creating these books my goal is to improve quality of life with a different approach. If the books promote a smile, laughter or a positive recollection of a memory that the individuals, carers and families can share together it's just one step in the right direction.
