Este estudo demonstrou que, em mulheres com perdas gestacionais recorrentes inexplicáveis, a IF (insulina em jejum) e a RI (resistência à insulina) são mais elevadas do que em mulheres sem perdas gestacionais recorrentes. Existe uma associação entre as doentes com perda de gravidez recorrente inexplicada e a obesidade, com um aumento significativo do HOMA-IR com o aumento do IMC. A maioria das doentes com RPL tem uma glicemia de jejum normal.
