OverviewLeadership, the art of directing and influencing others, is learned through our own experiences and by modeling the positive leadership traits exhibited by others. Leadership by example is a phrase embedded into the hearts and minds of all Marines. The leaders discussed in ""Corps Lessons"" molded thousands of Marines through their exceptional devotion to duty, upright character, integrity and personal sense of honor. The stories in this book are reflective of how important both example setting and face-to-face communications are to the effectiveness of your organization. In a world bombarded by emails, tweets and video conferencing, it is important to always remember we don't manage people, we lead them through our personal example, mentoring, and interpersonal relationships. The stories in this book highlight the leadership traits and behaviors essential for your success as a leader in and out of uniform.
