Author Information

Born West Auckland 1963, Denese Sheree has lived in somewhat remote places most of her life, and grown food to get by in a variety of climates and situations.. At 40 years old, Denese had 2 children, often cooking on fire with what she could grow was an essential skill. Fire wood had to be quality, well seasoned and plentiful to cook, keep warm and heat water. She was asked by many to write of her experiences and knowledge. She has a passion for using what we have with only simple tools, getting to know our environment and seeing what we have at hand to do what needs to be done, to be adaptable, and follow in the footsteps of the early settlers.
