BARNET is a Professor in the Department of the Recording Industry at Middle Tennessee State University./e He has worked in various positions in the music industry, including artist management, booking, concert promotion, television, and live show music production, performance, and conducting. He is a former officer of the Music and Entertainment Industry Educator's Association and a gubernatorial appointee to the Tennessee Film, Entertainment, and Music Advisory Council as well as a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. LARRY L. BURRISS is a Professor of Journalism at Middle Tennessee State University./e He served as Director of the School of Journalism and was the first director of its graduate program. Burriss has published extensively on First Amendment issues, and has won numerous awards, including the Tennessee Associated Press Radio award, for his written and broadcast commentaries.
