She has lived in several countries including Scotland, Belgium, Malta, Cyprus and Finland, but now lives in England. She is a divorcee herself as well as a mother of four, placing her in a prime position to offer advice on how to Control Your Divorce with Jan Bennett and How to Help the Children Survive the Divorce with Alan Bradley. She worked as a disc jockey before qualifying as a barrister, and enjoys travel, judo, netball and creative writing. Jan Bennett's Control Your Divorce provides a comprehensive yet easy-to-understand guide to the stressful process of divorce. Head of Family Law at her group of solicitors, Jan decided to write the book With Jody Beveridge after being asked the same questions by so many of her clients and realising there was a gap in the market for helpful advice on this subject. Her career, combined with a lecturing post at Newcastle University, have equipped Jan with the skills to write an informative and comprehensive guide on the subject of divorce, whilst also making it easily accessible. Having a father in the RAF meant that Jan has lived in various places in the UK, but also countries such as Singapore and Sri Lanka. Her broad experience and her strong interest in Family Law helps to make her guide realistic - it makes use of anecdotes from real experience without confounding the reader with legal jargon.
