Overview

The present work falls within the framework of the valorization of local materials offered by our Saharan region and the study of the behavior of these materials, taking into account their partially saturated character.The formula we chose was based on recent studies which enabled us to select the optimum formula of 75% tuff + 25% dune sand (T75% SD25%), the dead lime dosages were based on a technico-economic choice which are: 3, 6, 9 and 12%.The experimental study we carried out was based on the hydric behavior through drainage - humidification tests and the measurement of the sussion of the mixture prepared initially in paste form (wet and dry) and compacted initially with OPM, with and without lime treatment.The tests carried out enabled us to establish water retention curves and estimate the property functions of these unsaturated soils, in particular desaturation suction and retention limit suction.Key words: tuff, dune sand, local materials, suction, desaturation.
