OverviewThe exhibitions at Midnight Gallery, 16 total to date, have all been formative in undstanding the creative identity the space maintains. Always seeking to push the boundaries, the resident artists and the director, 000 have come a long way showcasing the very best and the most dynamic styles of paintings that are being made. With this exhibition however they felt they have gone one step further and realized that Contrast in Motion has brought the need to start publishing the photographic content of the art exhibits themselves. A bold subject for a book as it is not common to see an exhibition being documented so thoroughly, however all who are involved have started to realize that the show became something very special. It was discovered through this exhibition that people have found a way to transcend anonymity and by placing permanent tattoos upon the body in such a way, that the people themselves have become the artwork. Priceless, fragile, temporary works of art that are alive and in motion. We can observe tattoo art on a daily basis around us and usually it's just passing by. A glance within a moment or a quick chat at best in the presence of total strangers. Here in this exhibition we slow time down and allow the audience to observe and contemplate deeply the art that is embedded into the skin by the pain of the tattoo needle. This book will show you what that fateful night looked like the day humankind became the art!
