Overview

These works feature a wide range of different uses of wood in home construction. Each of the projects is clearly explained by the designers themselves. This international selection features several projects that are located in the USA. All of the examples selected share the highest degree of architectural quality due to innovative uses of wood as well as the architects' outspoken bid for environmentally sustainable construction. AUTHOR: Carles Broto, an architecture scholar and one of the founders of the IAC (institute for alternative culture). Following a successful period at the Atrium Group (Barcelona), he has now joined Grupo Links - Structure as the publishing director of various contemporary architecture collections. He is currently investigating the evolution of new American housing, as part of a multi-country project. He lives in Barcelona.
