Consorting the Muse in Her Upstairs Office

Overview

Herein enclosed are poems spanning themes of spirituality, mythology, psychology, philosophy, romance, tongue and cheek, and love lost. Some of the poems are written after the fashion of King James' old English, while others are in more modern English vernacular. There is an ability to connect to the poems, identify with their contents, engendering an empathy for the writer and a catharsis for the reader. The poems are a sizeable sample of the poets work, of which there is more, for a later time, As with wine, or chocolate, sip and nibble at your leisure.

Author Information

Mr Bowers started writing poems 44 years ago. He has devoted his life to the Muse, and utilized numerous academic disciplines to render his vision into relatable poems. Most of all, he has studied the romantics, especially John Keats, whom he feels is a kindred spirit. Mr Bowers lost his sister, Viki, 44 years ago. Many of the poems express the emotions he has worked through to arrive at victory over a debilitating sorrow that consumed him for many years. Mr Bowers utilized the help of an art therapeute to help him brave the wilds of his wounds, and many of these poems are the result.
