If you are a denominational Christian, whether of Catholic or Protestant persuasion, then this book was written for you. If you believe that your denomination is correct in all matters of faith, then you need this book. Most doctrines of the denominations are close to scripture in some things, but are far out in left field on most others. The only way to see where your particular denomination stands relative to what scripture actually teaches is by serious study of the Word. That does not mean a daily devotional where you read a few passages and decide what they mean, but a deep and personal dedication to determining what is actually said. Many times this requires a good knowledge of the scriptural languages, but not always. You can see for yourself what is said if you use a good dictionary of the languages of scripture and apply yourself to the words you see. When you do that, you will see that most English versions of scripture do not consistently and correctly translate the words from the original languages. Sometimes a dynamic translation is used, and most of the time that is okay. Other times the translators, for reasons known only to themselves, choose to render words that mean something far different than what the writer intended. This book is about using the scripture to define your beliefs instead of you defining them for yourself by the use of a poorly translated version.
