Dawn tells stories of some of her VAT visits to various traders including a plumber, newsagent, second hand shop, glazier, milkman, butcher, farmer, pyramid seller, Irish pub, removal firm, and a large German retailer, detailing the interesting characters she met and the unforgettable impact they had on her. In January 1981 she shelved her musical ambitions and joined the Civil Service as a Clerical Officer instead, and spent nearly 14 years working as a civil servant. She lives in Devon with her husband, and is a hotel and wedding pianist.
