OverviewThis book is aimed at those who design electrical installations. It refers to the study of the conduits and boxes used in residential, commercial and industrial electrical installations. The different types of conduits commonly used (PVC, EMT, RMC, FMC) in electrical installations are studied and the following points are described: a) the permitted and non-permitted uses; b) the minimum and maximum sizes of the conduits; c) the maximum number of conductors allowed in a conduit; d) the way of bending the conduits and the maximum number of curves in their route; e) the fixing of the conduits by means of supports; f) the connection between conduits and boxes and g) the grounding of the conduits. The metallic and non-metallic boxes of the installations are described as well as their covers and how the connection to the conduits is made. Conduit bodies, pass or connection boxes and waterproof boxes are also studied. The rules and procedure for determining the maximum number of conductors in a box are explained.
