Neelameghan, is a Former Professor and Head of the Documentation Research and Training Centre (DRTC), Indian Statistical Institute, Bangalore. The DRTC was founded by the renowned library scientist late Dr.S.R.Ranganathan, with whom Neelameghan worked for a decade. He has worked in specialized information centres for several years, and taught documentation and information studies in institutions in India and abroad. In his international professional work of some fifteen years Neelameghan has been consultant to and associated with information projects of UNESCO, UNDP, IDRC, and other international organizations. He had undertaken technical assistance and project coordination missions to several countries of Asia-Pacific,Arab States, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean. Coordinated and assisted in establishing regional information studies schools - in Manila, Philippines for South Asia, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for East and South Africa, in Caracas, Venezuela for Latin America; a national post-graduate programme in Beijing for China, and another for Papua-New Guinea. Neelameghan retired as Regional Adviser for Asia-Pacific, UNESCO/PGI,Paris. A founder member of the Sarada Ranganathan Endowment for Library Science, Bangalore, and the Ranganathan Centre for Information Studies. His current special interests include Knowledge organization and knowledge organization tools, community information management, and history of medical information resources. G.J. Narayana received his Science degree from the University of Mysore, Karnataka. He had his early library education at the Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. He took his Masters degree in Library and Information Science from University of Bombay and Doctorate degree from University of Poona. He has over thirty years of varied experience which includes research, teaching and management in the fields of libraries, information and knowledge. He retired as Head, Knowledge Centre, Aeronautical Development Establishment (DRDO), Bangalore. He has published several papers in reputed journals. He is the author of three other books, Ballistics: A Biblioview, Library and Information Management and Knowledge and Information: Perspectives and Prospects. He also taught Management Science at post-graduate level at the Department of Library and Information Science, Poona. He is a Senior Fulbright scholar. He received Scientist of the Year Award: 1984 from the Government of India in recognition of his contributions to defense R&D in the area of information and training.
