He holds an MA in European Studies from the University of Hamburg, Germany, and was a DAAD Postgraduate Scholar at the University of Heidelberg, Germany. Since 2019, he has been working as an Associate Member in the Centre for the Study of Global Human Movement at the Institute of Criminology at the University of Cambridge. He is also an Advisor to the Rector at Istanbul Commerce University.Dr Ilyas Öztürk is a Professor in the Department of Translation at Sakarya University, Turkey.
