Compassionate Conservatism

Overview

"What is Compassionate Conservatism?David Cameron has made compassionate conservatism a priority for the Conservative Party, famously saying that ""there is such a thing as society; it's just not the same thing as the state."" But what is compassionate conservatism? What vision of society does it offer to inspire and guide future policy making? And what does it have to say about the challenges that face Britain today? These are the subjects explored in this provocative and thought-provoking book."

Reviews

Superb ... What the Conservatives need now is not re-branding but an actual philosophical and policy basis for action. This book brilliantly provides that basis. It shows not just why the Tories are ready for government again, but why Britain needs them badly.

At once profound and accessible, this book is rewarding reading for anyone interested in political ideas, and indispensable to those on the centre right. It provides the first philosophical definition of the new, 21st-century conservatism.
