OverviewGlobal warming and environmental concerns are putting more and more pressure on the car sector to provide cleaner and more effective technology. Emission control technology has advanced significantly in India owing to the switch from Bharat Stage 4 (BS4) to Bharat Stage 6 (BS6) regulations, especially in the two-wheeler market. The exhaust emissions from BS4 and BS6 bike engine technologies are compared in this assessment, highlighting improvements in fuel systems, engine design, and after treatment technologies that make it possible to comply with the more stringent BS6 regulations. The research also looks at important variations in particulate matter, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, and hydrocarbon emissions. To lower pollution levels and align emissions, BS6 engines use complex technologies including enhanced combustion efficiency, sophisticated exhaust gas after-treatment systems, and accurate fuel-air mixture management. An important step toward cleaner and more sustainable transportation was taken in April 2020 when India moved from Bharat Stage 4 (BS4) to Bharat Stage 6 (BS6) emission norms.
