OverviewPublished originally as part of the ""Dead Sea Scrolls Facsimile Edition on Microfiche"", this work is intended to be of use as a reference tool for research on the Dead Sea Scrolls. It provides the reader with a comprehensive list of all the texts discovered in the Judean Desert by number and name, as well as a chronological summary of the history of the discoveries and of Scrolls research and major publications. Another article provides details concerning each of the archaeological sites in the Judean Desert where texts or artifacts have been found, whilst the essays on matters pertaining to photography by John Strugnell and Frank M. Cross provide an insight in the early days of Scrolls research. A chronological list of the negatives, an extract from the early photographer's log book and a bibliography complete this publication.
