Author Information

Registered nurse Patricia Carroll, RN, C, CEN, RRT, MS has been called ""America's Nurse"" and ""Heloise on Health."" Her warm, engaging style has been featured on television and radio, including CNN Headline News, Fox News Channel, and dozens of local news programs nationwide. Her PBS special 'Hints for Health: A Nurse's Notebook' made its national debut in August of this year and she won a Golden Lamp Award from the Center for Nursing Advocacy in 2003 for providing one of the best media portrayals of nursing. She has extensive experience in ER nursing, critical care, home care and traditional in-patient hospital care of adults and children. She's board certified as a registered respiratory therapist and in general nursing, emergency nursing and nursing professional development. She is the editor of the website whatnursesknow.com.
