I enjoy sports, drawing and writing. I especially love animals. It has always been my dream to write a book. My book is inspired by a true story that captured the hearts of so many. My Aunt and Uncle's 2 dogs, Charlie and Tak, got out of the yard and set out on an adventure. Sadly, Tak was hit by a car and did not survive. This hit my Uncle Scott very hard. He would spray cologne all over his backyard and put clothing out in the fields, hoping that one day Charlie would catch the scent and come home. Scott would sit up on a hill and just wait and look for Charlie. I decided to write the story from Charlie's perspective. We know that Charlie did stop by a farm for food while he was lost and he was seen with a pack of Coyotes. He would continue to howl like a Coyote even after being home. After being out in the wild for 3 months (end of August to mid November), Charlie found his way home on my Uncle and Aunt's 8th anniversary. While Charlie was lost, his story was shared across Saskatchewan, on the news, social media, and in the local newspapers. Everyone wanted Charlie to come home! This is one of my favourite family stories and I wanted to share it with the world (in book form). Charlie is still alive today (2024). He is old, but he's still living his best life! I love this story, and I hope you did too. I hope this story will make everyone feel like anything is possible with family and friends to help you along the way, including your dogs!
