Mary-Elizabeth has been writing poems most of her life as she developed a passion for poetry in her early childhood. She has published two books of poetry Moments in Time and When the Blue Bird Sings, as well as several children's picture books and a collection of stories about pets Forever in Our Hearts. She has received local, regional and national recognition for her poetry. Her poem ""Moments in Time"" was translated into Chinese and published in Taiwan. In addition to poetry, she enjoys gardening and drawing/painting, especially working with the vibrant shades of acrylic paints. Many of both her poems and her paintings are inspired by nature.
