Author Information

Camillo La Mesa graduated in 1977, was Post-Doc (1981-1983), then Researcher at Calabria University, Italy (1984-1992). Thereafter, he became Associate Professor (1992-2002), and, some years later, Full Professor at Sapienza University, Italy (from 2002 up to retirement, 2021). Camillo was devoted to teaching, essentially but not only, Physical Chemistry and Colloid and Surface Chemistry, in several fundamental and advanced courses. In his career Camillo La Mesa was interested in experiments and theories inherent to Colloid and Surface Sciences. Accordingly, Camillo investigated several systems belonging to the Colloidal domain, as biocompatible micelles, microemulsions, vesicles, several nanoparticles, carbon nanotubes and liquid crystals. Colloid Sciences require a lot of expertise in many instrumental aspects. Thus, he used microscopy, TEM/CryoTEM techniques, but also relaxation spectroscopies and NMR, together with SAXS and DLS, not forgetting thermodynamic and transport properties. The results of his scientific activity are summarized in over 160 papers and in a lot of other contributions.
