Discover Geography Student's Book 7

Overview

Discover Geography empowers students to think like geographers and understand geography. With compelling enquiry questions, chapters build the knowledge and skills to explore the world. Focusing on curiosity, critical thinking, and real-world relevance, learners make meaningful connections and envision positive, sustainable and equitable futures. This complete and compelling geography curriculum supports the KS3 Geography National Curriculum for England, Cambridge Lower Secondary Humanities, and IB MYP Individuals and Societies. Student’s Book 7 explores themes such as climate change, drainage basins, contrasting landscapes, adaptation, food security and the impacts of a changing climate. The chapters investigate key concepts such as the difference between weather and climate, how climate is measured, and how it varies across the globe using real-world examples like Death Valley, Mawsynram and the Thar Desert – laying the foundation for deeper study at IGCSE or GCSE Geography. Encourage students to draw on their own experiences and environments while blending local and global perspectives, fostering a broader understanding of the world Enable students to build geographical knowledge and skills in a purposeful, connected way through each need-to-know chapter enquiry question Make geography accessible and achievable in a wide range of settings through practical fieldwork tasks and the use of geospatial technologies and live data Support all learners, including those with English as a second or additional language, with clear explanations, engaging visuals, and key vocabulary features Benefit from the expertise of a team of educators and geographers with extensive experience across UK and international contexts Access the most up-to-date resources, assessment support, and curriculum thinking and planning via the accompanying Teacher’s Guide, Workbook and digital subscription on Collins Hub
