Paul Sterry has written and illustrated more than 50 books, including the bestselling Collins Complete Guide to British Wildlife (which has sold over half a million copies) and Collins Complete Guide to British Birds. Trained as a zoologist, Paul has been a wildlife photographer for over 30 years and owns the photo library Nature Photographers. He has worked as a Research Fellow at Sussex University studying freshwater ecology and regularly undertakes research expeditions. He is a keen birder and conservationist. With 10 years’ experience in the photography industry, Rob Read is the library manager and picture researcher for Nature Photographers photo library, an agency specialising in UK natural history images. An active photographer with a keen interest in the natural world, his images have been widely published in books, magazines, newspapers and online. He has written and collaborated on a number of natural history field guides and is also an integral part of the Bird Photographer of the Year competition team.
