OverviewThis book summarizes the investigation of the perceptions of six college students who experienced academic difficulty and suspension followed by a turnaround to good academic standing. The data were analyzed through a qualitative and phenomenological methodology in order to describe the subjective, psychological dimensions of the phenomenon. Results revealed that the students traveled an emotional path that consisted of three parts; the journey was characterized by two academic spirals, first a downward one and later an upward one that was mitigated by a transformational pivot which changed the direction of the spiral. These results provide inspiration for those who falter academically and also for those are there to help with transformation.
