Kathleen Schonauer is an award winning artist, illustrator and writer. She is currently a member of the National Collage Society, a former member of the Midwest Collage Society in Darien, Illinois, and a member of the Monthly International Collaged Playing Cards Exchange.Kathleen has been an art educator since 1970. She began as an Art Specialist for Grades K-6 for the Illinois school system and eventually transitioned into teaching at Moraine Valley Community College, in Palos Hills, Illinois. There, for over 30 years, she was an adjunct professor in the Art and the Humanities Departments. At MVCC, Kathleen also participated as an instructor in the Adult Education Program and the Children's Art Program as well.Her educational background includes: The American Academy of Art in Chicago, Illinois (Life Drawing and Two Dimensional Design); Bachelor of Science Degree from Illinois State University, Normal, Illinois (comprehensive Art Major, Art Specialist for Grades K-12); Master of Arts Degree in Art Education, Concordia University, River Forest, Illinois (Curriculum and Instruction); and a Master of Arts Degree in Transpersonal Studies from Atlantic University, Virginia Beach, Virginia (focus on psychology and humanities).
