OverviewSocial phobia is an anxiety disorder characterized by an intense fear of being judged in social situations, leading to distress and functional limitations. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is a validated approach aimed at reducing anxiety and enhancing social skills by modifying thoughts and behaviors. This study presents the CBT management of a 35-year-old patient showing partial improvement on antidepressants. The protocol comprised 15 45-minute sessions including psychoeducation, relaxation, in vivo exposure, self-affirmation and cognitive restructuring. Pre- and post-treatment assessment used the Liebowitz, Rathus and Hamilton scales. Results showed a significant reduction in anxiety and depressive symptoms, as well as an improvement in assertiveness, confirming the efficacy of CBT. This study illustrates the value of this approach for the targeted treatment of social phobia.Key words: social phobia, CBT, anxiety, assertiveness.
