Author Information

Ann Deckers is a Belgian author and primary school teacher. She lives with her family in Noorbeek, a picturesque village in the hills of the Netherlands, and is the mother of four children. During her pregnancy with twins, she wrote the story Coco Holds on to Her Leaves. After following a masterclass at the Clavis Dream Academy, her childhood dream came true: in 2024, her debut was published by Clavis. For Ann, writing is a way to not only help children discover the beauty of nature, but also to impart wisdom and resilience. Dutch illustrator Nadine de Burlett (1980) brings stories to life with poetic, atmospheric artworks. Drawing inspiration from nature and from the way her children perceive the world, she crafts heartfelt visual stories that invite readers, young and old, to pause for wonder and delight.
