OverviewWith the aim of setting up a sustainable management project for Diego Bay, an international symposium was organised from 20 to 24 November 2017. Several fruits of research around the marine coastal environment of Diego Bay were exhibited during this Summer School by Master students of the Marine Sciences Course at the University of Antsiranana in Madagascar. External and national guests were also present, providing input on the management of other bays around the world. This led to a regional debate on the management method best suited to Diego Bay, based on the indicators put forward by the students. Local decision-makers attended the conference and saw the benefits of involving local scientists as a lever for development in the region.
