Reviews

Highly recommend Coach Culture. Practical leadership tips for developing a coaching culture shared in a compelling and relatable way. Something you can share with your team. -- Amy L. Zimmerman So much of what I read about creating a coach culture is conceptually lovely, but when it comes right down to How do I do this? the authors are sparse on details. Shawna not only tells you WHY a coach culture is good for business but WHAT you need to do to implement one and HOW you need to do it. Step by step. This is also the first time I have seen reference to all 3 modalities of coaching (external, internal and leader coaches) and how they can work in concert to give a company the best results. Bottom line results. On that note, thank you, Shawna for emphasizing the importance of measuring results and showing us several different ways to do it including the resource-light(er) option of ROE. -- Jeannie R. Phillips Well-researched and well-written, Coach Culture explains what coaching is, why you want to implement it, and how to measure your results. As a longtime performance manager decidedly in the camp of the tell, sell, yell leadership, I have been slow to adopt the coaching approach to get business results. But with a new and younger workforce to lead, I have realized the importance of reshaping my approach. Nothing brings an organization to its knees faster than people who are just doing their job rather than thinking and innovating. Today's workforce requires new and better tools to engage them. And this book gives you those tools in clear, actionable steps. The coaching model in Shawna Corden's playbook is easy to understand, to implement, and to measure. -- Georgia Girl Coach Culture explains the benefits that a coaching culture can bring to any organization and goes a step farther than many other coaching books by explaining in detail the types of coaching modalities and how to implement a coaching culture in your organization. Having worked in organizations with and without a coaching culture, I personally support all the reasons the book outlines for implementing a coaching culture regardless of how your organization structures it. Many companies focus on being as productive as possible. Employees who feel supported and know they have someone (a coach) to help them process any work issues will be more productive and engaged. A highly recommended read. Don't just read it thought - implement it! -- BJ
