Nothing can ever prepare you to leave a toxic/abusive relationship with a narcissist. It will be the most difficult undertaking of your life and it will leave you with deep emotional wounds and maybe even physical ones as well. However, having said that walking away and regaining control of your life is the most powerful and psychologically motivating moment you will ever have and breaking free will change your life for the better. YOU ARE WORTH IT. Exerpt of my own personal story: Every morning I wake up and I cry. I cry about my son that will never talk to me again because I was forced to choose between him and my other son that is disabled and I knew that my disabled son needed me and I am mad at myself for not standing up and taking control. I am mad because the toxic narcissistic person in my life tortured my disabled son out of my sight by making him work 15 hours days with no pay and only one meal per day...........when I had a chance to leave I didn't fly away I again listened to the toxic person in my life against my better judgment and I stayed my cage door opened and I stayed because I was terrified to leave and face the world with my disabled child even though I am sick and I have no health care here and I would have had health care if I left I stayed and I and I crawled back into my cage like a animal terrified to leave it's abuser and I in doing so I held my son in this horrible toxic place as well. I am writing this to let others know they are not alone and they can find their way out and to show them how and that it's okay if it takes time to leave just keep moving forward. Anyone, anywhere, anytime can fall into the trap of a toxic and/or codependent relationship this book was written to help those in this situation to find the courage to leave. This book talks about the shame spiral, love bombing and the moment of realization. I encourage anyone living in a toxic relationship to leave.
