Dr. Bolland has written a very interesting and valuable book on the power in the workplace. His insights into the types of power and the evolution of power go beyond merely reflecting on the current thinking on power to understanding how the use and types of power are evolving. And perhaps most importantly, Dr. Bolland does not just examine this from the academic view, but rather, he examines power in terms of its real impact in the workplace. These insights are valuable and important for anyone who is already in a position of power, or who hopes to someday be in a position of power.
