Overview"Do you know what it is like to be stuffed right at the back of the closet with very little room to move with all those clothes, shoes and not to mention the skeletons? It can be a dark and lonely place especially when you do not have a flashlight. Richard Harris' new book Closets Are For Clothes has been written in a no-holds-barredA"" fashion. Looking at the accomplishments and complications that are part and parcel of life, when you are different from the rest of the people in your world. As you first begin to acknowledge yourself as gay, lesbian or bisexual it leaves you with feelings of dread, you know you are different and with this comes the emotional rollercoaster ride, just because you are attracted to those of the same sex. It is natural to think that this automatically removes you from the world, leaving you locked in the closet experiencing life through the crack between the doors - but it doesn't have to be this way, with a little guidance and encouragement you can come out of the closet. Think of how great life can be when you decide to open up and tell those whom you love about the real you, and when they accept the real YOU. You are not alone, there are millions who understand your situation, there are those who have broken free and come out of the closet and those who remain locked inside. Allow this book to be your flashlight, see the clearer picture that will have you grabbing for the handle so you can set yourself free. You will discover the real person that is hiding inside that closet, a person that is a true individual worthy of love, respect and acceptance for being gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender. These are just labels by the way; they in no way define who you are as a person. In the book there are many coming out stories, they are from real people just like you, who were afraid of bullying, or homophobia, but having made the leap of faith in their friends and families, they are now living happy lives out of the closet. Come out of the closet, and come out of your depression." Table of ContentsReviewsI can genuinely say this is one of the most inspiring, honest and sensitively written books I have read in a long time. Although 'Closets are for Clothes' is undeniably, nay, fabulously gay, it is in no way just aimed at gay readers. Anybody who has ever felt alone, depressed, or just that little bit different from everyone else, especially those who have suffered bullying just through being themselves, will take great comfort from this book. The author, Richard Harris, lets his warmth and encouragement flow through the pages and by the time you have finished reading you may just decide to look inside yourself and find someone you can start to appreciate, and maybe even love. - Caz A touching read which is brought to life by the many real life case studies within. Not only does the author bring to the book a witty and informative background of Everything Gay, but is able to offer those from all warps of life an understanding of what has gone buried away for far too long. While I consider myself to be an open minded individual, being straight, it's easy to oversee the difficulties that those who aren't straight have to face on a daily basis. This book opened my eyes to a whole different culture. I laughed out loud and also cried at times, and felt like I'd been taken on a journey from beginning to end. A must read for anyone interested in the gay community, anyone who thinks they may be or are gay, and also for any parent/guardian who simply wants to understand further what their child may be going through. If you only buy one book this year make it this one and you won't be disappointed. - K.A Williams Author InformationHypnotherapist and Life Coach, Richard Harris, of True Colours Coaching has done all the hard work by creating this handbook so you understand the trials and tribulations you may face when discovering your sexuality.
