Table of ContentsReviewsA lively and interesting account of the young boy's life in the countryside, working on the farm, dealing with animals, gathering mushrooms and other rural pursuits, with the war going on mainly in the distance, but at times frighteningly close with air raids and local buildings destroyed by bombs. It was interesting to read that although there were times of hardship and food was scarce, the family arried on with the normal pursuits and Stefan playing the piano. I was intrigued by the refrain which occurred at the end of each chapter and how ingeiously the author worked it in. A fascinating story that reads well. Loved the quirky end of chapters. Very graphic, I could picture it all. Really enjoyable and interesting. Very compelling writing. Author InformationTab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
