Reis is a professor of psychology at University of Rochester. His research interests include influences on social interaction, patterns of socializing for health and psychological well-being, and psychological processes that affect the course and conduct of close relationships, intimacy, attachment and emotion regulation. He is the President of the International Society for the Study of Personal Relationships. Caryl Rusbult is a distinguished professor of psychology at University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, where she is also the Director of the Social Psychology Program. Her research interests include motivation and behavior in close relationships and commitment processes.
